Trend report: how to dress when the weather changes
And it is supposedly autumn, with a hint of summer and rages of winter.
I was doing a big clean in my wardrobe a few weeks ago, and it hit me. I think we all do have a recipe on how we dress - even if you are inspired from what you have around you - I think it’s fine to say, that after a certain amount of time spent getting dressed, and I, at (almost) 35 years old, have a type.
A type of things I style easily, constantly. I type of things I always go back to. Some will say like a bad ex boyfriend that we know is toxic, I meant more like a grey cashmere jumper pair with the right denim - that we know we will feel good, and at ease in, like a comforting blanket.
When the weather turns, you feel good snuggling up, you want to be cosy and wear items that holds you and protect you. I think there is a common knowledge, that pieces of clothings are emotions and personality shields ; you know, for days where you felt a bit more vulnerable, or those where you need an extra boost of confidence. There is no arm if finding inner peace through a very good outfit. If anything, I think that is quite a strength - knowing what type of shield you will need or want for a specific days. It’s empowering, in any case, to know what ressources to use and it surely helps to navigate the ups and down of everyday, with maybe a bit more confidence. Why is so much importance given to public speaker’s outfits ? Have you ever thought twice what to wear for a certain occasion (lol, of course you have, don’t hide here) we all do - because asking and wondering what we want to wear, is a bit of the same thing as asking oneself how we are doing. and that is a rough question to answer to!
