They are just the greatest summer footwear + a list of beaded bags to take places
Welcome to summer, almost high summer, where your drinks are bublly, your dips are long, your books are romance and your music is loud. European summer has picked for the bast few weeks, and conversation fly high.
My husband asked the other day, casually: “are you really showing up to diner with these?” Ie: A pair of flip flop so he called it, while I tend to think them more as a pair of leather sandals with eyelet on the straps.
To each its own. You will say.

As I am sitting in a restaurant (Laptop allowed, people!!) in Marylebone, the amount of summer shoe made of leather strap open toe sandals is mindblowing: heatweave, or trend ? Is the weather making the trend, or the trend fighting the weather ?
I do wear flip flops, quite a lot. Diners, drop off, silk dress, bare back top, sweatpants, often my most comfortable and water friendly one, despite summer rain. I kind of like it.
There was a time when flip-flops belonged strictly to the realm of utility—sandy toes, pool decks, hotel showers. They were light, cheap, forgettable. You wore them until they wore out, then tossed them without guilt or nostalgia.
