But more importantly, this newsletter is delayed. The shows are over, and it has been a week already - yet it still took me a moment to pause and reflect on what I saw.

I think New York was really strong. Of course, first one of them all, and due to the place in the fashion week calendar, we will be a bit more tender with the city, but in all honestly I think New York shows were bold, and true to themselves. Raw. A feeling that New York was sort of, maybe back, commercially speaking. Or maybe It was just me - quite literally.

I was blown away by the retail space, which is so different than in Europe. Stores are built, and merchandise to leave this huge brand imprint your brain.

I have seen a lot of nostalgia over there and it’s not me projecting my own thoughts I promise. designers were literally celebrating American fashion heritage, through the pillars of its roots.

Through very strong aesthetic and technical pillar, American fashion designed a place for itself quite naturally : Denim, leather, drapey silhouette, practical, suits represent the American’s designers DNA and they were loud and clear on the runway.

Another really strong pillar of American fashion lives within minimalism & quiet Luxury – Brands like The Row, Khaite, and Calvin Klein champion clean silhouettes, luxurious fabrics, and an understated approach to dressing. American minimalism is not about being stark but about ease, comfort, off duty, elegantly blent with refined fabrics and tailoring which I loved seeing - and ultimately will love wearing.
