Some classic pieces to wear during the 5th season of the year
the one between Winter and Spring + a tribute to the boat shoe
The weather has been weird; some days it snows, and some days it is 15 degrees. I'm not here to discuss it, but to find a solution on what to wear, more importantly because we are transitioning from Winter to Spring and welcoming the 5th season in between.
Some pieces of clothing are called wardrobe staples, and despite the updates they go through season after season, they are here to ground your seasonal outfit. Think practicality but emotional; think useful but kind of uneasy; think 'thrown on and go,' but it needs to be styled.
This is what I'm after for this newsletter: pieces that have been around for a while but are desirable for the new season.
January, February, and March are those weird limbo months where you don’t necessarily want to dress up, but kind of want to because leaving your home in simple outfits makes you a bit blue. At least it does for me. Do not get me wrong, I love a good jeans + good sweater + easy sneakers kind of day, but during Q1, I need a bit more than this. So, I put together a small list of items I currently wear and why
The boat shoe: the new flat ?
The one that belong to a vintage world, but revisited. The one that gives you a heart pinch because they remind you of an Art class teacher, or an elderly couple matching on the Brittany cost (picture it with stripes sweater and perhaps a rain coat) - The one that you thought you would not wear because thats the practical piece runway rarely looked at and never updated. Until you meet her again…
